My Story
My mom introduced me to Scentsy in 2013 when I did a home party. My husband and I loved the scents and warmers we were able to pick up at that time. Can you believe the warmers are still running on the same bulbs?! We hadn't had any of our children yet and were living in North Dakota. When asked to join, I didn't think I knew enough people or had the time for a new business.
Fast forward to August 2017. Valentina was 3. Leonardo had just been born. I was filling out teaching applications left and right. We had a new house to care for, too. This is what life looked like when I made the choice to join Scentsy. I didn't know a lot of people, having just moved. I didn't have a lot of time with all the new changes to our family. So much for my original reasons for saying, "no." Scentsy was my way to provide a flexible income option for my family without taking time away from other endeavors. With small children and job applications active, I needed to maintain a schedule I would be in charge of fully, no matter what. I started working at a middle school about an hour away shortly after joining Scentsy and being a consultant added very little stress to the situation. When I needed to slow down my business, I was able to make that call on my own. I could work my business as much or as little as I want, balancing how to reap the rewards of my Scentsy Life without taking away from my partner, children, or classroom.
Fast forward to 2023 and my Scentsy business is still here, stronger than ever. What I love about Scentsy is how accessible it is for my four kids! I never have to worry about them interacting with the products because of their high quality and safety standards. Valentina enjoys using the sweet smelling Body Wash at bath time and making wax samples with me. Leonardo enjoys smelling his way through every bar within reach! He thinks every single one smells "nice" and picking the next fragrance that will warm in our home. Nico has a love affair with the Wall Fan Diffuser in our bathroom. He takes it apart and puts it back together all the time. Baby Laylah LOVES grabbing everyone's Scentsy Buddies! The super soft toys are her favorite and she will pick a Buddy before anything else.
How could I wrap this up without talking about my beloved, Chas? He's been a tough, candle-loving cookie to crack, but he's been simply the best during my Scentsy experience. With the kids, we've been phasing candles out of the house with the help of Scentsy. This company has SO MANY diverse and unique scents to choose from that buying candles is no longer necessary. When we're fighting against the worst smells, we turn to Scentsy's Air Purifier for a fresher, cleaner environment.
My favorite thing about Scentsy - and part of why I joined - used to be home parties. I got to meet new people and I love a crowd. But honestly, my business expanded so much in 2020 without them. I have tried new things online, pushing myself to reach new goals. My team has grown allowing me to use my teaching skills as a Scentsy leader. I also earned my first set of company awards by helping those new team members find success! It has been amazing.
